What styles of violin do you teach?
Our violin teachers can teach a wide variety of genres. The violin is normally associated with classical and folk music, but our violin teachers can teach every genre from pop to jazz!
How qualified are your violin instructors?
Our faculty have received their musical education from prestigious institutions such as New York University, Mannes School of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Each teacher has years of professional performance experience, formal training, years of teaching experience of all ages, and specialized knowledge of a large range of musical styles.
What will I learn from violin lessons at Tribeca Music?
Our students spend time each week working on technical skills to improve their sound quality and intonation, but also have their favorite songs incorporated into the lessons. Our violin teachers,through their care and expertise, will certainly nurture any student’s love of the violin.
Do I need to purchase a violin to learn the instrument?
Yes, you will need a violin. We can provide you with recommendations based on the size and experience of the student.
Are there recitals?
Absolutely! Every December and June, our students have the opportunity to perform in world class recital halls throughout NYC. Unlike most of our competitors, we do not charge students a fee to perform. And admission is free, so you can invite all of your family and friends.

At Tribeca Music we offer more than violin lessons! We are proud to offer many popular instruments with expert teachers. This makes it convenient for students who wish to study more than one instrument, or for siblings within a family who want to pursue different instruments.
