Piano technique revolves around a variety of physical adjustments with the central focus of relaxation:
🎵Sit up tall
🎵Elbows out
🎵Wrists up
🎵Round hands
🎵Feet secure
🎵Sit with enough distance to be able to move your arms freely across the keys
🎵Don't forget to loosen any tension and breathe
Piano relies on physical finger control and muscle strengthening as well as thinking and listening. We must position our bodies to optimize our precise mental focus, fluid arm movements, and controlled fingers.
Remember our fingers, wrists, arms, and upper body are one interconnected single unit. They all must move together in a relaxed way, without any tension in the elbows or shoulders to enable agility, strength, and speed in our playing.
