Acoustic Piano Benefits!

Hear from our amazing piano student Aidan, a junior in high school, as he shares his thoughts on the benefits of acoustic pianos! We love his passion and insight—don’t miss it!

"When getting into the piano for the first time, and perhaps for several months or years afterward as you continue to grow, it can be difficult to see the benefit of an acoustic piano over an electric one. The electric piano is magnitudes cheaper as compared to the acoustic piano that can be several thousand or tens of thousands of dollars. If you’ve never bothered to compare the two, you likely don’t fully understand the important differences that make the strings and hammers outshine the circuits. However, it is crucial to at the very least understand the differences that separate the two so that those who don’t can be better prepared for the experience. The first thing you’ll notice, even before the way it sounds, is the different ways that the keys of electric and acoustic pianos feel. Furthermore, the sound created by an acoustic piano is indisputably better than an electric piano; it’s more responsive to force, allowing for a wide variety of volumes and notes that can get much quieter than most electric pianos."

Thank you so much, Aidan! Your insight is thoughtful and inspiring—we’re so proud of you!
