February Student of the Month!

Congratulations to our February Student of the Month, João! 💫👏🎶 We asked him about his music experiences.

TM: Why did you want to study music?
João: I came to music with video games, and I was really in- spired by the music there. I first heard the music in my parents’ car: got interested in the lyrics first, and then I wanted to understand how sounds and lyrics are connected to each other. Music is a new form of art for me, it’s another way of expressing myself.

TM: What is your favorite song?
João: “ Stronger Than You” from the show Steven Universe by Rebecca Sugar. It’s a powerful song with an inspiring message. It’s really moving too!

TM: What is your best practice tip?
João: Just listen to music as much as you can, and listen to different music.

TM: What are your tips for beginners?
João: If you feel discouraged about singing and that your voice doesn’t fit the songs you like, I swear that there are songs for your type of voice. Music is very subjective and there are a lot of genres and sub genres.
